P&G wins Dow’s Diamond 2018 Award for Packaging Innovation

The Dow Chemical Company (Dow) announced the winners of the 2018 30th Awards for Packaging Innovation, which recognizes the packaging industry’s top achievements in innovative packaging designs, materials, technologies, and processes. The highest honor, the Diamond Award, went to Procter & Gamble’s Air Assist, a breakthrough in performance and sustainability for e-commerce and brick-and-mortar packaging. It’s still in its early stages of commercialization. But the first package to leverage the new technology, a 9-oz package of Dawn Ultra dish soap, still managed to wow the Dow judges. The Talking Labels Using AR Technology

19 Crimes wine labels image recognition to give consumers an interactive experience. Using the image recognition of real convicts banished to the Australian penal colony in the 18th and 19th centuries. The consumer’s smartphone screen will be used to share their true stories for this AR (Augmented Reality) experinece. The brand also awarded as ‘Wine Brand of the Year’ for 2017 by Market Watch.
